So the numbers on the keys aren't to model specific?

National Register keys come in a multitude of shapes and sizes depending on what exact lock they are intended to operate, as well as what general type/age of machine. Sometimes multiple keys with different cuts can operate the same lock. Most I've come across seem unique to their particular machines, and can have all kinds of different numbers and legends on them too. I don't know of a handy way to trace them, unfortunately.
