This was an anniversary gift from the wife on our 15th year. After hearing news from the Dr.'s that I wouldn't be walking in a few years due to an auto-immune disease, she thought I should have a bike again. It has been a great little hobby and we enjoy getting out on it every chance we get. It definetly lifted my spirits that summer a few years ago. I love the bike even though I have outgrown it, but the idea was to get something smaller to help me get back in the saddle again so to speak. I hadn't been riding in almost the whole 15yrs we were married. And with the old legs not being what they used to be, it was a good idea at the time. Now I would like to have something like a VStar or a slightly bigger cruiser. The Suzuki was great for little trips under 100 miles, but after that it tends to get a little uncomfortable for us both...sorry the pics are lousy. Will get better ones soon.

Show off? Whatever do you mean epson233? Just showing obscurities my little motorcycle. Showing off, not me!!!:) I do love this little bike alot though. She has provided alot of great "thinking" time on the road. Im sure you can ride one, right?

i knew that was what you were up to when i saw obscurities beauty -- yes i can operate one -- the last time i did -- broke the collar bone -- she got away from me on gravel -- they pretty much literally turn my stomach to look at them -- love their looks but physically they just have that effect on me now -- again -- it was my stupidity and ego -- lesson given and lesson learned!!!! -- still enjoy the quads however

Thank you for the compliment epson233. I understand what you mean. Once you have a nasty wreck on one it's got to play on a persons mind. That gravel can be a true nightmare, I have laid a few down on gravel myself. Just lucky for me I wasn't going real fast when I hit it. I would like to get another bike and teach Sandra to ride this one. Or I would like to turn this one into a "bobber" which is only a single rider. Takes time and money, I've got the time, just need the money!!

I think she looks pretty good for a bike from 1999. She has been well maintained by the previous owner and myself. I washed and waxed her every time I road it the first year, and at least once a week the second year...but didnt ride as much. The legs wouldnt stand for it most days...good times just the same though.

Sounds like there is more metal in you than in the motorcycle. Just kidding. Thanks for the compliment on the bike. My thoughts are turning towards turning it into a bobber. Straight drag pipe with the insulation heat tape. Flat black primer with orange or yellow handpainted pinstriping and the rest all crome. Can you wrap your mind arount what that will look like? Not too terribly diffucult to do either. Just takes money and a decent kit is around $1000 online.http://www.google.com/imgres?hl=en&safe=off&tbo=d&authuser=0&tbm=isch&tbnid=FTKefVrH2J0IFM:&imgrefurl=http://bluecollarbobbers.com/web/index.php%3Fpage%3Dshop.browse%26category_id%3D9%26option%3Dcom_virtuemart%26Itemid%3D24&docid=OWFvgCXVYzARBM&imgurl=http://bluecollarbobbers.com/web/images/stories/suzuki_savage_s40/aSuzuki_Sav_s40_side2.jpg&w=600&h=400&ei=OXT4UKakBselqwH_zYCoDg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=617&vpy=121&dur=217&hovh=183&hovw=275&tx=149&ty=89&sig=101854371840043004781&page=1&tbnh=138&tbnw=206&start=0&ndsp=10&ved=1t:429,r:3,s:0,i:94&biw=1093&bih=495

Thank you for that wonderful compliment. I am a man with a brain and not ashamed or embarrassed to admit I am in touch with my feminen side too! I think it makes me a more well rounded individual overall. That and it always gave me a leg up with the gals too. no pun intended...well maybe a little bit. haha
