This is my second posting on American lamps. In my first, I learned I had a Consolidated Lionhead top and a Pittsburgh Sunken Hollyhook base. But I still have a third lamp, which has the original shade from a lamp whose base broke the day we moved from Canarsie to Manhattan. Years later I did find a "matching" bottom, as you can see in the first picture. The second picture, shows still another globe on the Pittsburgh base. The third and fourth , courtesy of a fellow CW, are complete Pittsburgh lamp, and the Wrigley's advertisement (yes, as in bubble gum) for a Lionhead lamp.

Expensive to buy even then from what I can make out in the ad.

They were and are luxury items. All of mine have the original oil tanks and have been electrified without damage to any parts.

The relative worth of $20.00 from 1900 is:
$553.00 using the Consumer Price Index (calculated for 2011).

HOLY COW! YO U CAN ACTUALLY PICK ONE UP FOR LESS THAT $500 ANY DAY! AND BY TODAY'S STANDARDS, THAT IS CHEAP.

Hi Alfredo! I'm new here and I noticed your lamps in show & tell.
I was wandering if you could have a look at the lamp I have & tell me what the heck it is.

Well, send it to alfavil@aol.com. In fact, I do not know much about American lamps. thanks to those who are helping me identify them.
