Most of these dramatic, gaudy lovelies are 2" wide or more on silver textured base metal. I love this 2" wide domed green w/gold flakes lucite bracelet from...50's or 60's. Next a black 2" wide bracelet w/medallion necklace. Grey satin w/sadly many missing rhinestones and the last picture shows 3 other fun old thermoset plastic bracelets: Turquoise, royal blue and oval turquoise. No one ever doubts these are fake - but in the vintage costume world collectors recognize their age and quality. They are comfortable to wear and make a dramatic statement.

Thanks Nadia - I had a really great maroon similar to yours that I gave away for the perfect birthday girl. Aren't they wonderful? And not really expensive. My fave is the green one.

Very nice of you... I am very stingy with my vintage jewelry :)

Yeah - I rarely give away unless I have duplicates or it's just not "me". But she loved it so. Same girlfriend last birthday I brought her a 1" green end of day bakelite bangle. (it's posted here on CW) When I greeted her at the party she showed me some pale pink 1/4" carved bakelite bangles she bought on ebay. I said - "oh, nice - you should open up the gift I brought for you". She RAN to the table and was so thrilled - wore it even tho it did not match her outfit or the other bakelite. That made me feel so good - it went to the right home. Plus I have 9 or so other green was okay to let that one go. I'm still on the search for red!

I love bakelite... Last summer I found a really pretty end of day green about 1 inch wide for $2... Haven't posted it yet :)

At our favorite resale store for animal protection and that's where we got our kittens. My daughter volunteered 80 hours there in 2 weeks... So, I figured it was karma that I got that great piece. We are huge supporters of the organization. :)

You probably remember it Helen Woodward Animal Center... Love that place. We also helped sort thru loads of boxes when they opened their resale shop. It's generally a little over priced, that's why I was shocked to find the $2 bakelite bangle.

Good morning Nadia! Yes, I do remember that place and congratulations on the kitties and the FAB $2 bangle!! Wow that was karma working. I know those resale shops are overpriced but when it's for a good cause - I'll pay. Did you see the episode of Market Warriors where the blonde Southern gal buys 3 bakelite bangles for $10-$15 (What??) and no one at the auction wanted them? Totally unrealistic!

I haven't been about to catch the Market Warriors... I gotta look it up again.
I bought a lot of jewelry in March... I am going to have to slow down for a little while... Heehee....

Yes, it's probably still on I think you would like it altho being a reality show there is nothing real about what they are buying things for.... You bought some AMAZING things. My favorite is the silver machine age pendant w/blue stone you just posted. And I love all the charms.
