I purchased this vase several months ago online. I had seen several John Cook pieces on the Bay for several hundred dollars and his style reminded me alot of world famous glass blower and designer Dale Chihule. Mr. Cook is famous in his own right since he has commissioned pieces for celebrities such as Barbara Striesand and Arnold Swartzeneger just to name a few. I have included more information below for anyone that would like to see more of his work. Enjoy!!!
In brief, John Cook has been a glass artist since 1968. He earned his bachelor of fine arts degree in glass from Brooks Institute of Fine Arts in Santa Barbara, CA where he studied on scholarship and graduated with honors. He has designed works of arts for many notable collectors. Kenny Loggins, Joe Walsh, Barbara Streisand, Jacque-Yves Cousteau just to name a few. John Cook's glass is shown at major galleries throughout the United States and museums as well.

Thanks for the love Vetraio, Sean, and pawis.
You don't think this is too bright, Sean? It is different, I know! But that was why I was so drawn to it. And the long list of celebs that John Cook has commissioned pieces for was another...Who knows who might have owned this one before me? I am waiting to hear back from the glass studio now to see if this was done for anyone. Wouldn't that be awesome?
I looooove the colours!...:-)
