This is a so called Schaumgold enameled pendant from the Biedermeier period.
Biedermeier:
As the "Biedermeier" refers to the time period between the Congress of Vienna in 1814 and the revolution of 1848 in Austria. France called this period "Restoration".
Schaumgold:
A thin Goldblech is the basic material for most factory-made trinkets (shaped by pressing). Biedermeier jewelry often consists of Schaumgold.
I think this pendant is also made in this period. Beautiful turkoois enamel and has a little pampel. It is 7 cm long and as you can see on the third photo fits very good with my gold little earrings with turkoois.
I wonder if somebody can tell me how the decoration was made in the enamel?

cindyjune as always thanks a lot for loving.
The surface of the metal is chased or carved, then the design was probably covered with something, and the surface around it was painted with enamel. I originally wondered if the carving was done after the enamel had been applied but that would be risky, since the enamel could easily be chipped or cracked?
