I know many of us here have more than a few pieces of art glass in their collections and I am always curious as to how folks display them. Are you willing to share?
To get the ball rolling, here are some pictures showing where my glass collection lives. I knew I was serious about collecting when I recently had built-in shelves (4th picture) installed to accommodate some of my collection.

Very 1920's Art Deco.
I don't collect glass, but nicely collection (great display and nice photography).
I need to get some built in shelves in a couple cubbies that this house has built in. it would take so many postings to show all the places I have glass stored in the house. LOL. I have at least 700 -800 pieces in my collection now.
btw, I love your shelves they look like they must be inherently stable. where did you get them?
Good golly this is fantastic! So very very pretty. I'd be afraid to sneeze though : ))
Thanks Alisa. Aren’t they great? And so simple. A clever design person here in Toronto came up with this shelving idea. They are telescopic steel pipes usually used as supports when basements are being excavated, add some c-clamps, a few screws and tempered glass shelves and you’re done.
Clean and classy, I love everything about it! Well done Mac.
im moving in:) stunning:)
Love your home and displays. Just curio cabinets for me, nothing special but they keep the dust off. Your home looks very much like another I was in that had free standing round all glass cabinets, 4 shelves. I don't know if these are commercially available or not. Really nice for 360 degree viewing.
Oh ! so tidy .. can't show this to the wife ...
Wonderful! I love those floor-to-ceiling shelves. It looks like they are adjustable too, which is a bonus. I must ask. The painting over the mantle? Who? I like it too!
Thanks for the loves.
cogito: the piece over the mantel is titled JOCASTA by TONY SCHERMAN. It is
a limited edition giclée print of Jocasta, from the series The Seduction of Oedipus. Jocasta was the wife and mother of Oedipus. The original resides in a private collection in Seattle, USA. Here is a link to Tony Sherman's site :

Beautiful and restful room! Gorgeous collection! Well done!!!
I forwarded the description and your photo to the hubby.. He's not handy but it sounds like maybe he could manage that.. :)
I love the grunt with delicate!...:-)
I also collect and dig for bottles. I was able to get an old hutch at a consignment shop, that is if you have the room. I recently sold my home and downsized so I am going through the same thing. I use corner shelves, but have seen some creative ways in the bottle guide such as building posts and putting the bottles on them almost like a tree. I'm sure if you google it, you may be able to find a picture. This guy in New Mexico has them outside his house, its like a forest of old soda bottles. I own over 500 so I know what you mean, space can become complicated. I also had corner shelves to display my bottles but am currently looking to shelve them like you. Love the display!
I showed it to the hubby and he said he wouldn't make me one because all it would take is a millimeter of house settling and everything would come tumbling down. that for an emergency measure that isn't meant to be in place long it's perfectly safe but as a long term thing it's dangerous. I thought I'd pass that on as a consideration. the other concern he said was even a minor earthquake would make it unstable. I don't know if you guys get earthquakes ever there. we get tiny ones all the time.
So many familiar favourites Mac.
Thanks A for your concern.
I am confident the shelves won't move because the poles are anchored in to the floor and ceiling beams. Each pole has a total of 10 4" screws - 5 top and 5 bottom. My house is 75 years old and although I don't think a house ever stops settling to some degree, I believe it does slows down a lot. I have no cracks in my foundation... yet:) I did take all of this in to consideration when I installed them.
As for earthquakes, I use to smugly think that it was a Canadian west coast issue and that we were not prone to earthquakes here on the shores of Lake Ontario. Wrong! We have had a couple very minor ones over the past few years - but I am not too worried. Again thanks for responding.
I was watching his video on his website. If he is Canadian he sure is interested in America's history. His Lincoln's are great paintings, i have been a photographer for 30 yrs.
I am not sure I understand... "if he is Canadian"...do you mean that if he is Canadian he wouldn't have an interest in painting historical/cultural figures?
Beautiful collection and very nicely displayed. I can see you take great pride in it. Thanks for sharing.
Too organized! I have glass even under the bed!
lol...Thanks Al!
So much class, and so much glass, the best of the best !~
Thank you!
