I found this little guy today. Not sure exactly what it is or what it is for. The salesperson said it was for appetizers, but I think it is too small for that. It is only 3 inches wide max. It has a glass insert and is labeled "Made in England." I cleaned it up a little bit, it didn't clean up like silver or silver plate. Does anyone know what it could be made of? Thanks!

Very interesting piece. The shape is a common one in silver, but I haven't ever seen one like this one. Is the lining glass? Is it opalescent glass or cloud glass? Nice touch! I doubt that it's a caviar dish. I wonder if it's a jam container? There is a space for a serving spoon, as there is on many jam pots. Very interesting!

mikkochristmas11, hey thanks for commenting, no the glass is an insert. It comes out. It is "cloudy", yes, it is. I was thinking jam container also.

I have one of these! I use it for my jewelry, but I think it is some kind of server.
      It's pretty too!

Your liner looks to be a hard plastic in photo or maybe it's because its not clear like the one I have & I think they can be used if we want for anything that fits. Solves problem. But I choose not to use mine.

Howdy, BHock. Hope you're doing well. I logged onto CW looking for the main entry for the German beaker, but don't find it. I had meant to make my final posting. Is it still on CW. Thanks. Sorry. Been gone a long time.

I saw one of these sp clams in a box on ebay one day. The line was called "Queen Anne". The function was identified as a 'Butter Dish'. The glass insert for that unite was clear, however.
