I am just looking for a little information about this piece. It is about 6 inches tall and about 8 inches wide. I bought this in a shop about 13 years ago and when I saw it I just about lost my teeth. I was excited beyond belief. I am just looking for some info about the possible maker and age. Thanks.

Really beautiful! Hopefully some of our glass gang can help. Color is brilliant!

mid to late 1800's. what does the bottom look like?
    3. antiquefreak66, 11 years ago
The bottom is open, not solid. The bowl is attached to the top not one solid piece. I can't see any type of glass wafer to connect the two pieces. The condition is mint minus the gilt medallion that was in the center of the bowl is worn away.
