Algerian/Iraqi stamps 1975. When my dad was a civilian flying instructor in the UK in 1975, he was training Iraqi pilots who were very pro UK and USA. After they left he would get many letters and cards from the aircrew he trained, thanking him for his kindness and giving their allegiance to the UK and USA. Sadly as things progressed they were forced to stop sending pro western letters, due to the threat of death, for themselves or their families and the letters stopped. The rest is history.
After training, they swore they would rather die than fire upon western troops/air forces. Sadly Saddam made this happen.
