My dad brought this back from Japan for me in 1976 and it is a wind up geisha girl music box. Unfortunately, over time, the plastic pieces of the music box broke and it no longer is in working condition. I am wondering if she is porcelain or not. She is so detailed and beautiful I thought I would share.

Here is one that sold like yours but yours has a gufun face or porcealin I can't tell from your photo . Gufun is crushed shells :-)
