Unfortunately, it looks like this beauty has been seriously neglected [note all the broken panes in the doorway]. This looks to be another Oakland art deco building. I wonder if it's designed by Pflueger? i wonder who made those beautiful tiles. I'd love some more info, but haven't found any by googling the address.

i didn't really think it looked like Pflueger. he's just the only deco name i know. i think it looks more like a more humble julia morgan.
i still haven't found who designed/built this place nor anything about the tiles, but i did find a record of the building selling one year ago for $109,500 - which boggles my mind! how could a 12 unit, beautiful building in the heart of oakland sell for so cheap? and it looks like nothing has been done w/ it since.
