THERE ARE MANY WHO DOUBT THE VERY EXISTENCE OF RUCKL IN SPITE OF DOCUMENTARY EVIDENCE TO THE CONTRARY: CATALOG DECOR PAGES FOR VASES, SHADES, LAMPS; 4 ACTUAL PHOTOGRAPHS FROM THE RECENT TANGO SHOW IN PRAGUE, ETC.

RUCKL WAS ONE OF THE MAIN CZECH DECO EXPORT PRODUCERS, TOGETHER WITH AND KRALIK, TOMSCHICK AND WELZ. ITS WARES APPEAR COPIOUSLY ILLUSTRATED IN THE BUTLER BROTHERS OF THE 30'S.

ONE OF ITS DECOR LINES WAS CALLED METALLIT. THIS IS A CASED EXAMPLE: AN INNER LAYER OF LIGHT BROWN GLASS COVERED IN BLACK WITH APPLIED SILVER MICA FLECKS AND CASED IN CLEAR. 4.7/8" HIGH, AND A BARELY DISCERNIBLE STRAIGHT "CZECHOSLOVAKIA" STRAIGHT MARK. I HAVE A SECOND WHICH LACKS THE INNER LAYER, AND A RED METALLIT WITH A WHITE INNER LAYER.

PLEASE REFRAIN FROM MAKING COMMENTS THAT HAVE NO DOCUMENTED BASES. IF YOU DO NOT LIKE A PIECE, OR THINK THE INFORMATION IS INCORRECT, YOU MUST PRESENT PROOF, NOT OPINIONS MASKING AS FACTS. RESEARCH IS NOT BUILT ON SPECULATION.

By the way. Lots of Czech vases may appear listed as Italian, given their similarity to Murano wares. Actually, the Czechs were actively encouraging this confusion. The same in America, for example, Dugan's 1906"Venetian" and "Pompeian" glass lines.

This glass is very interesting Alfredo. I have been reading about the Ruckl factories that are still in operation and the "Top Secret" glass they are producing to this day. I believe this is the same glass that your vase is made from. Thank you for posting it. I find it very interesting. Stronger than steel with the resistance to heat...is just a little of the information I have been reading.
