I got this lamp at a garage sale for a dollar simply because I liked it. I am curious though if anyone knows anything about it or it's maker? At the top of the lamp it says: Spero Cleveland Ohio- USA . Patent Applied For. Under the base of the lamp it says: Patent Pending 859. Then what looks to be the letters NU Yoea?

If that is the whole patent number, it is from July 28, 1838. Is it a plugin?
It looks as if someone added a plug to it. It does work though.
For a buck.... thats an awesome lamp! I don't think the shade is original though, but I could be wrong. Great find!
any patents or manufacturer on the plugin?
I would grab it too for a buck. Good eye....
Nothing on the plug in because I'm pretty sure someone did a little homemade wiring job for the lamp but on the top of the lamp it says Spero- Cleveland, Ohio
