From the pic looks like 1920's. Flame Mahogany. I would ask no less than 1000.00 for it. Dave
I have no interest in selling but thanks!!
Any idea what pull-out part at the top (above the top drawer) would have been used for - I suppose to make it sort of a desk? I need to get better pictures of it, I will work on that.
Did not realize how battered the top front of the piece looks until I took the photo with the desktop part pulled out!
Same thing it was a used piece of furniture. I would be worried if it didn't show some kind of wear. They call it a ladies dresser writing surface. Great Pieces, you can drop it off at my place anytime LOL! Dave
Ahhh a ladies dresser writing surface, good to know what it's called! It's no longer a dresser, I am using it the same way my grandmother used it - top drawer is the most shallow and it has rolls of wrapping paper in it (perfect fit length-wise), the bottom drawer is the deepest and has tablecloths and other linens in it.
Is it odd to have it in the living room when it's actually a dresser? Well, it works for me!
In my collection pics you can see in the bay window a antique dresser/closet. Drawers mon one side and hanging rack on the other. LOL
That works!
