Coin silver cup and plate, monogrammed "John B. Daggett" in Gothic Revival script. By W. K. Vanderslice & Co, 810 Montgomery St in SanFrancsico, CA. Each piece approximately 170 grams. Interior gilded and in fine condition. I bought it at the Salvation Army for 10 bucks for the set. I love the idea that this actually belonged to someone over 150 years ago.

I wonder if this is the same John Daggett? - John Daggett served as the 16th Lieutenant Governor of California from 1883 to 1887. The site known as Calico Junction just south of the mining town of Calico, California, was renamed Daggett, California, in 1883 for Lieutenant Governor John Daggett.
On May 18, 1893 he was nominated by President Grover Cleveland to serve as Superintendent of the United States Mint at San Francisco, a position he held until 1897.
Well you know, I also wonder this but I have discovered that the Daggett family is rather large and spread out. I doubt there is any way to find out. I prefer to think this cup belongs to the Batman character who tries to put Bruce out of business (John Daggett also). Hahaha.
