    My great grandmother kept her mail in this bowl and then her daughter, my mother's aunt did the same. It was left to me as I always loved it. It is a lovely bowl, pinkish purple and quite large, about ten inches across. I know it is old but would love to know more. I haven't had great luck with the identification sites.

      looks to be the Grape and Cable pattern by Northwood Glass; at least give you a direction to research

      Yes. I now know the era and that the mark on the bottom is not a Z but an underlined N. The colors of Carnival are hard to match but I vote amethyst! The edges are saw toothed. Thanks for the clue.

      the underlined N should definitely confirm Northwood. I'm not too good with carnival glass colors either but agree with your assessment on amethyst. Very nice letter bowl!

      This is the small size punch bowl in Northwood's Grape and Cable pattern. The line was so large that it contained three different sized punch sets. Originally there would have been a matching pedestal base that went with this.
