This candle lamp, life light, or flower vase is made of cased spatter or variegated lemon glass. Vase has a raised ribbed shell like pattern and rests upon leaf shaped feet of glossy applied crystal clear glass. This is considered double cased glass meaning that the color layers are sandwiched between clear casing layers. The innermost casing layer is a paper thin layer of glossy clear.

The fairy lamp version of this shape was shown in the ca 1895 Hosch catalog page above as Figure 7347. Figure 7348 shows this yellow and white variegated tango decor. Other shapes on the catalog page show similar traits, many with applied decorations.

Through empirical research is it currently possible to link the vase shape above to Ruckl as follows:

This vase is labeled Ruckl:

The labeled vase shape above was manufactured in other spatter glass decors including one with an orange lining as seen here:

The orange lined spatter decor from the vase shape labeled Ruckl is found on this ribbed shell shaped vase:

Please note: This shape is not illustrated in any Butler Brothers Wholesale Catalog.

The vase shown here differs from fairy light 7347 on the catalogue page above in at least three ways.
1 The shape of the ribbed shells differ.
2 The vase has no falling 'leaves' beneath the shell.....the fairy light does.
3.The foot of the vase is different, more ornate than that of the fairy light.

I doubt the vase is "related to fairy light 7347 illustrated above. I think the fact that the vase is sitting on a well recognised Welz foot shape says it all.

There are no related decors or related shapes labeled Welz. There is no manufacturers documentation showing this shape, this foot, or these decors as Welz.
