Greatsnowy…
(119 items)
This is definitely MY room. Basically 6 cases full of glass with my desk in the center. There is more in here than 4 pics can really convey.
So here is a picasa link to the vast majority of my collection and it's display. I didn't do a couple rooms. but 75% is represented. I should have just posted this with the first one I did :)

You're giving the PGM a run for its money! Where do you sleep? I suspect there's glass there too.
Thanks!
LOL yeah, there is glass in the bedroom, mostly the deco stuff. Is there a room without glass you might ask next.. My husbands office ALMOST made it but I've snuck a few in there too. :)
Truly Beautiful! How long have you been collecting? Impressive Collection!
Thanks Leah, I started collecting when I was 15.. I am embarrassed to say how long I've been collecting art glass in particular. :) I might look obsessive compulsive or something.
Well, you certainly have beautiful taste and it shows. Thanks a bunch for sharing! :)
wow Greatsnow!!!!!!!!!!!! beautiful office :)
Beautiful collection Alisa.
GORGEOUS!!
Love the picasa album too!
"You're giving the PGM a run for its money..." lol. Beautiful collection Alisa.
I hope we all don't decide to sell at the same time - the market would be saturated...:)
Wonderful GSOwl! I think indeed a room just like this.
Fantastic! I especially like the large cat figurine in the foreground of the fourth picture ;-) Cheers!
thanks everyone! :)
I would never leave my office. ;o) Thank you for sharing you have a wonderful collection.
sincerely,
lisa
Love it, Alisa. That would never work in my house. There is no snooze button on a cat that wants breakfast, and his way of asking is to knock items off the kitchen counter, then look at us to see that we noticed. He clears off the end tables in the living room too. I can only imagine what he would do with open shelves. We keep a couple of cheap sacrificial pottery vases on the kitchen counter just for this purpose, lol.
That is some collection GSO!!! Do you actually know how many pieces you own?
Somehow I doubt it!!: ) Thanks been a pleasure!
Dave I use earthquake putty. But for the most part they leave the open shelves alone.. the only one in danger is the one that attaches to my desk. They have let me know where they want to be and as long as I keep those areas glass free all is well. Notice how I have no glass on top of the shelves. That is because that is a kiteh flight path. I just work with them and no glass or kitteh is harmed in the filming
On number of pieces owned I have a decent idea. Because of the database for my website. I haven't updated it for a few months but the base number right now would br approx 800 give or take 100
they also are interested in coffee tables and kitchen tables. we leave those clear of anything that might break. you should try an experiment with some shelves and see if your cat ignores them or not. you just have to have enough stuff on them to make it not be an easy jump placement for him.
Dear Greatsnowyowl and any other misguided souls who live with cats. :O))))))))))))))
I have a wonderful idea for you. I know loads of lovely dogs who need good loving homes. How about a wonderful dog rather than a cat? They make you get your daily walk in painlessly, they do what they need to do outdoors, and they don't walk on furniture and break glass and they are dogs. :O) Everyone knows that dogs have families and cats have staff. They are the best ever creatures too!
A little tongue in cheek,
Lisa
LOL Lisa, but I have 2 dogs as well. The cat is the graceful one. I have seen him jump up on top of my oak ice chest where there were about a dozen pieces of Van Briggle pottery, and never touched one of them. Now a wagging tail on the other hand...can clear a coffee table.
Lisa, cat people have a really cool song by david bowie and dog people do not.
Clear winner here and clear not winner..
Cat peeps rawk ;)

Ah yes but Dog people have among others, Elvis. :O)
hound dog is kind of a derogatory song don't you think? He ain't nothing but a hound dog, crying all the time. Ain't never caught a rabbit and he ain't no friend of mine?
You got me! I guess I should have googled the lyric. :O) If you must I guess you will keep on with your moggy. I love my wild birds and I have feeders and birdbaths and the pond to bring them here and I get really fed up when the little birds are killed by the neighbourhood cats. I am sure you bell your cats though, or perhaps they live inside the house. Dogs are my thing. Always have been always will be. I can see that at some point I will not be able to take anymore giants but I will always be a dog person even if it means I have to switch to the little mice on strings, Frenchies perhaps?
Dogs eat birds too (and other things) I remember a dog we had when I was a kid coughing up an entire wild duck he got on the kitchen floor. :/ Stop trying to villianize teh Kittehz! Dogs and cats both have pros and cons and they both do annoying and redeeming things. It's ok that there are dog and cat people because that way both have homes.
I have feeders up too. My cats are pretty much indoor cats, we do have a fenced back yard. They get to go out every now and again with supervision. but really both dogs and cats are carnivorous predators. Serial killers all.
Mesmerising!
Wow, impressive.
