This bottle of sherry wine is one of my kitsch bottles. I remember we used to have a big one at my parents's house when we were kids, but my father gave it to somebody. That was sad! I bought this one to give to a friend overseas as a gift but wasn't sure if I could send it without problem (it's full!) so i kept it...
On pic no.2 you can see the original design from 1935. It was made by Luis Pérez Solero.
Whoever that visited Madrid more than a couple of years ago will remember the fantastic neon-light add in Puerta del Sol (pic 3), the central square in Madrid and Spain (it's the point from where all the 6 radial national roads depart from). This neon-light add was designed and placed there in 1936 and it had been there until 1911, when unfortunately the building it used to be over was bought by Apple to open their flag store in Madrid and they don't want it, so it was dismantled with the excuse of restoration. The building is still under works and it's clear they have no intention to put it again on its original point (I guess a huge apple sign will be put instead). Last news are that it will be put on a different building -one of the many buildings the El Corte Inglés department stores have in the area.
By the way, this post is dedicated to Amber :)
