i grew up just down the road from parrish's house and studio and supposedly we visited w/ them at their home a few times [but i don't remember that]. i lived very close to where the third picture was done - near the blow-me-down mill. i found this article to be very interesting about how he used optics to get the effects he is so well-known for. when i was in my teens, i spent a lot of time in a home which had a number of enormous paintings by him in it. i've loved his work for as long as i can remember.

I love his work. That is cool that you can relate his art to your childhood. I like your CW handle too. Is that a Dorthy Parker reference?
thanks crabbykins. i don't get the parker reference, although i have admired her before. my handle refers to my two obsessions: horticulture and over-the-top cultcha.
