These animals on pintray’s were also done as seals –without their dishes, so you could put your ‘seal’ on you correspondence – knowing that meant the bottom of the animal was to be cut for a monogram –Rene Lalique always signed these cachets on the side!

Meanwhile back to the pintrays

1. A topaz bird designed 1925
2. An opal rabbit designed 1925
3. An opal fox designed 1926
4. And a very rare peppermint mouse designed 1925

They seem to have gone out of production sometime in the 1930s, but just a few were bought back in clear around 1947 and made for some time

There are other colours and figures, but this a least gives you a taste of the wonderfull range.
