This mask was made by the Purempecha people of Michoacan, Mexico. I was told that it was made using all natural paints - made from insects, leaves and bark. I have my doubts, but it is a very beautiful, small mask [5" x 3.5"]. it's one of my favorites. i've had it for about 28 years now.
