Someone brought me this old piecrust table the other day. It's in terrible condition and i'll probably eventually refinish it, but it's missing some of the 'crust' as well. i wonder if it's worth the trouble of refinishing it?? what do you all think?

I would. It has some real nice relief.

Agree-- refinish and use it! The wood on top looks dry and damaged-- I bet it looks great with some work.

Need some nourishment. A good wax first?
      How's the wood carving skills!
That section would be difficult to replace.

yeah, i think the top can be improved a lot w/ some tung oil and a good wax. the carving that is there is excellent, although my carving skills are non-existent. i might ask my dad if he wants to do that part or just leave it for now. the table is made of a very nice mahogany and it's got some real age to it. you don't get that kind of polish w/out many years of use.

I wouldn't refinish, but I clean it up and apply some furniture polish to spruce it up a bit. Love it!
