Old Glass Candlesticks are pretty and useful when candles are used but when they are converted to Electric Lamp Bases, they become a hundred times more useful and they retain their good looks. My wife and I have been using these old, colorful glass, Art Deco Candlesticks made by the Co-Operative Flint Glass Company in the 1920's to refurbish them as night table and hallway electric lamps. Why them you ask, because not only are these 8 3/8" high candlesticks beautiful, with excellent quality glass, but because they have larger 1" deep by almost 1" diameter sockets that can accommodate these old, made for candlesticks, electrical fixtures/switches. The wide 4" hexagonal bases on these candlesticks make the lamps very sturdy and glass shades can safely be added. The Candlesticks shown are in Canary and Blue colors but they were also made in Amethyst, Aquamarine Blue, Cobalt Blue, Midnight Black and Crystal. With the proper shades; new or old, they are quite handsome indeed. These candlesticks come up for sale regularly on eBay as singles or sets so finding them should be easy. Good hunting!
