Hand carved drum, metal banding top and bottom, opposite sides Japanese? warrior riding a dragon opposite sides female Japanese? warrrior riding a phoenix, individual tongue in groove? boards, approximately 2 1/2 feet high, approximately 18" diameter? 3 carved legs, real skin stretched over the top , heavily worn, several small holes in the skin, bottom band is deteriorated and boards are splitting in places

Just tapping it with my fingers it sounds like a drum, I am not a musician so I am not sure how to describe pitch or tone if that is what you mean.
Were you able to locate information on this drum? We have one very similar to this we were trying to locate information on.
We have one very similar to the one posted. I am trying to figure out if it's a reproduction, where to take it, what it's worth, etc.
Hi thestuffologist I just came across 2 of these drums but instead of dragons they have asain men ome playing a flute of some sort. U was curious if you came across any type of info on yours since my 2 look exactly the same except the carvings?
I have a drum like this. It has 10 different figures of men carved into it. 1 or 2 splits in the wood, some wear, but drum head still seems tight. I want to sell it, but not sure of worth or if there is a collector's market for it. I can't remember where I got it.
