This is a closed Car Dealership in Conquest Saskatchewan Canada . I love the shape of building as it curved around corner . Now just a landmark and some of the Auto's that are listed on front of building are no longer produced . Shows a change in the Auto Industry as we knew it .

My Grandmothers sister moved to Canada and that branch of my cousins I still have close contact with . The Family settled in Conquest Saskatchewan Canada in 1909 and then Ardath and Outlook . These Photo's were taken by Walksoft when he went with his wife to visit my cousin . He was kind enough to take photo's for me as I have never been there but they come to USA every year .
In 2011 Conquest had a population of 176 living in 85 dwellings, a 5% increase from 2006. The village had a land area of 167.6 km2 (64.7 sq mi)

Ardath is now really a deserted town with 16 residents my cousin being one of them.

It would be neat to find an old picture of this dealership, with some old cars out front!

How could a town go from 176 to 16 in 2 years ?? Shame really, that dealership would make a magnificent home !~

Hi Phil I must have made that confusing . This was in Conquest it has population of 176 . Ardath nearby where my last relative lives has population of 16 and he and has wife are 2 of them . He lives in the Post Office that is right inside his front door which closed years ago . His mother my Cousin ran PO for town for many years . All deceased now .

I looked for a picture but didn't find anything.
You should ask your cousin there may be something in local archives or the community history book.

@walksoftly -- LOL, I could tell you stories about Conquest, Bounty, Dinsmore, Milden, Ardath, Rosetown, and Outlook.....but None of them would be about *GLASS*.

...Then again, there are still some nights from back then I still do not remember...lol

@antiquerose, sounds familiar just swap out the above towns for Manitoba names & the only glass we where familiar with was the type with caps!

antiquerose That is my Canada families area. I did not know anyone knew where Ardath was :-) Are you still in that area ? Walksoft went to see my cousin for me and took those photo's for me :-)

@Manikin --Yup grew up in the area....Still have lots of family in that area. Ardath used to have Curling Bonspiels (Rock n' Rye) ones.....as did all those small towns. As out there in the older days, you either played Hockey or curled in the winter....lol. Is there any way to email you from here as I am new here. Just joined like less than a week ago.

Just a note - this is conversation is still on topic (IMHO )as it all has to do with the photo posted. Never did I think I would see a local landmark I grew up knowing -- on here. Wow, Neat!!!

Yes I am still in Sask.

I will poke around as I remember this having car sales and everything back in the 1980. Fully functional then, and knew some of the people that worked there.
