The Coquette is from Western Electrics Design Line collection in the French Provincial style. which Bell started in the 70s and ended with a takeover from ATT in the 80s
The Coquette was made before we had portable phones thus the large cut out in the back...making it easier to carry the phone around the house as we talked on it.
This style was made rotary only although phones were being made in touch tone at that point.
When this phone was made metal was actually metal NOT plastic. There is a fancy gold tone metal piece in the front of the phone to add your name or phone number.
This phone weighs about 5 lbs. I remember the simple black rotary phone at my parents home could take a beating..they were that well made.

I love the grip in the back of the phone...way before portables. I remember you had to buy them and they weren't cheap. If I remember they were about $100 1975 dollars
