I thought I'd post this for those who haven't seen a "dull" 226 piece. Here are a few pictures comparing the 226 bright papillon vs a piece with a darker bottom. I love the shape of the first one. But I was definitely not crazy about the papillon section after seeing the other vase. Of course it is still a cool piece though.
