    Yellow Jug by Ryd Glasbruk
Not to be confused by the yellow Aseda posted by Alejandro
I have no further info on this jug (year, designer,..)
It doesn't have the regular Ryd sticker, the one with the big r on it.
So any help would be nice ;-)

So this is the RYD one!!! It is clear now it is not the same one I've got, which ended up being an Aseda one :) Can I copy your picture so I can post both jugs at the Aseda FB group???

I've talked with a man who worked at Ryds glassworks for many years. He said that most of the glass they produced ??were made on order, in which the client sent a drawing or model. Based on this Ryd produced a form that the glass was blown in.

You mean that they were just the glassblowers for other people/company designs? But shouldn't that mean that the items should have been sold under the name of the other company? Why bearing a Ryd label then?

I think it was for example supermarket chains who ordered from Ryd, and then could Ryds label still remain on the glass. If other glass company ordered from Ryd, they did not put their Ryd label on it. But of course they have their own design too.

Yes, that makes sense. Thanks rebessin!!!

As I see, this three jugs with similar design, ar not exactly copies. They differ in details, and fore sure all the three were made by different glassworks. Alvesta, Ryd and Aseda.

I have now got a name of Ryds glasworks own designer: Christer Jarenskog, born 1943 and still alive. See if I can find him...?
