Unusual high grade Agassiz Watch Co. for Military application, probably Aircraft navigation. Agassiz was owned by Longines at this time. Longines had a very lucrative contract with the U.S. Military, supplying high quality chronometer grade watches to be used primarily for navigation. The Longines version of this watch is fairly common, also high quality, but not as stylish as the movement in the Agassiz. Eighteen size open face nickel chrome case, snap back/bezel, metal painted 24 hour Dial with Winding Indicator and sweep seconds hand. Very high grade 21 jewels nickel lever Movement, adjusted to temperature, pink gold Sweep Wheel and Train Wheels, beautifuly stylized and damasceened sweeping nickel Train Bridges, chronometer Balance Wheel, and patented Snail type Michrometer Adjustment, 30 hour run time.
