Why does he have a hole in his belly? and another large hole in his back? Why are his hands held over his head like that ? any idea of age or anything? Thanks for any info you might provide!

    Hi ho2, this is a typical standing pose for Hotei, the most popular of the Japanese Seven Lucky Gods. Haven't seen the holes before. Regards, Jim

    Benihana Japanese restaurant Mai Tai holder from the 1980's. The hole was for the straw. I have one from a drink I purchased there.
