Greatsnowy…
(119 items)

Let me preface by saying I haven't done my homework here. In my defense I have a trillion books and I am not really so sure where to start with this and I don't recall seeing anything like this in any of my books.

No markings that I could find. I am gonna guess 1910 or so as a date for this. Maybe 1915. the base glass is a kind of opal with some light blue over tone and the black is actually a dark amethyst.

Anyone have any ideas on this?

    Thank Bellin!

So no one has any idea on this one? :/ hmmmm. Mystery of Mysteries. the glass upclose kind of sort of reminds me of berenek but it is much much more refined than berenek.. but it kind of has that schaumglas type appearance in the white.

Do you know how much of the lamp hardware has been replaced? Is any of it original?
  4. Greatsnowyowl Greatsnowyowl, 3 months ago
I have no idea. I am guessing it was mostly replaced in the 70's or 60's. the collar might be original. there is a lot of age there but not so much in the rest of the hardware.

That's what I thought I was seeing in the pictures. Too bad, the hardware would have helped. Lovely glass though. :)

Have you tried UV light? My first possibility, PK. that is an original base, not a drilled vase, so it probably had no matching glass top. How told is it?

It's not radioactive. It's about 6 inches tall in the glass. it's not big at all.

I just took a moment to refresh myself on PK.. and yeah. I see what you're saying. that's a totally believable direction to head in.
