This is a beautiful Antique Amethyst that is a rare Buff Cut Amethyst. That means that the top of the stone is shaped like a dome and the bottom is faceted. The pendant measures 2.75 long and 1.20 wide. The Amethyst is 1.00 x .75 and hallmarked Sterling Germany. I found this umong lots of Costume Jewelry and bought it for $25 a few years ago....I love the Buff Cut stones..they are one of my favourite cuts!

Sooo pretty! I love that old style too. I have a piece my grandfather gave to my grandmother when she turned 18. It's gold and the stone is much smaller, but it's a great reminder :) For some reason I am unable to upload pics...hopefully soon.
