I found this 1975 Mattel Hot Wheels toy case today at the dump. It has 14 mixed vehicles in it. Some are Hot Wheels or Matchbox and a few are not. The stamps on the bottom are hard for me to read so my information is dicey at best. I can see the red and white Matchbox tow truck is 1968, Hot Roller, Sheriff Car #701, 1977 Snorkel Fire Engine, Dodge Crane truck, 1977 Matchbox American Airlines Airport Coach, 1984 Getty car, Jeep CJ-7, Screamer, Stomper 4x4 2/2. Yellow Z 28 car with Oklahoma license plates and a few others. I know nothing about Hot Wheels because it's not my interest. But, I do know its been a popular brand. These toys look like they've been played with. Is there any value in these? Feedback is welcome. vscience@yahoo.com Thanks!

Yes, played with or not some still have good value. You can always check ebay for basic values. You can check by the particular brand and model so you dont have to look at 36,000 hits. :)

I love the fact that you found these at the dump. The earlier Hotwheels known as Redlines are the most collectable. They have wheels like the ones on your case. Like mustangtony said, some still have good value, from one dollar to hundreds of dollars. A few rare ones in mint condition are even valued in the thousands. Later series redlines, remakes of the originals, don't hold the same value. The dates on the bottom may read 1968 or 1969 but the car can be made much later because the date is the copywrite date and not the year of manufacture. Condition is everything and chips and wear, which are common, can drastically reduce the value. However some of the rare ones have a premium value no matter the condition. One of these is the Beachbomb I posted. However the rarer Beachbomb which is the rear loader (the first model) is the most sought after car of all the hotwheels. One can bring thousands. A hot pink one (which oddly seems to be the most collectable color) reportedly sold for more than 70,000 to Bruce Pascal, a collector. Though some may still be around, I think you would have a better chance of winnin' the lottery than findin' one. :-)

The feedback has been wonderful. Thanks for all the info. I will keep my eyes open for th Beachbomb- esp the pink one.
