im not clear what i have here, it has no pat. date only that it was applied for. also says all steel but legs are wood? original or ? very cool been sitting in the mantle for years. not for sale just started wondering what and how, cant seem to find any info on this. spring works well. i tried to get good pictures but i can retake if needed.contact by email to blunch@comcast.net

Don't have much info for you, but I also have one of these. It has red wooden legs. It belonged to my dad, which probably dates it to the late 20's/early 30's.
Wyandotte is the city where it was made. It was made by a company named All Metal Products which was in Wyandotte, Michigan. You can find them on eBay with an asking bid of around $50 but they don't seem to get bids.
