This prism-top regimental beer stein is named to Infanterist Klinger, who served in the 9th Bavarian Infantry Regiment "Wrede", 2nd Company in Würzburg from 1906-1908. Würzburg is a city in the region of Franconia, Northern Bavaria, Germany. Located on the Main River, it is the capital of the Regierungsbezirk Lower Franconia. The regiment is named for Karl (or Carl) Philipp Josef Wrede, (29 April 1767 – 12 December 1838), Bavarian general (later field-marshal) during the Napoleonic Wars, was born at Heidelberg, and is considered one of Bavaria's greatest generals. The stein's side panels depict guard duty, the Reservist walking his fraulein, Infantry training, a scene of the Reservist in the stockade (unusual) and battle scenes. The pewter top is dark with age, and through the crystal prism a lion on a pedestal is visible. The lithophane has spider lines, the stein itself has no chips or cracks.
