13 inch tall pottery regimental stein issued to of all people, a reservist appropriately named "Stein". The reservist belonged to the 6th Battery Kurmark 39th Field Artillery Regiment, and served from 1908-10 while garrisoned in Perleberg, which is located in the heart of the district of Prignitz, about halfway between the two largest German cities Berlin and Hamburg. Since it was located in the former Republic of East Germany, behind the "Iron Curtain", steins from this area are more difficult to obtain. The center panel shows an artillery limber at full gallop below which is a picture of the regimental epaulet flanked by a picture of Kaiser Wilhelm 11 and a crowned Prussian eagle. The side pictures shows the unit in various stages of gunnery practice. The tall pewter lid has a slight wobble but nothing distracting. It is surmounted by a Model 96 Field Cannon. The thumblift is of a crowned Prussian Eagle holding a Garde star in it's beak. Roster has typical wear. The entire body of the stein has light craze marks, apparently from being improperly stored.
