This is a brass locket that has a lovely photo of a beautiful young woman in a lace-front frock on one side and what I think might be Mom on the other side. I do not think these are the same woman younger and older. The wife side of the locket is lovely with a very art deco cutout pattern while the Mom side is plain. It could have been a watch fob, as a man probably would not wear a locket around his neck. There is a red spot on the cheek of the wife and another on the right side of the photo about 3 o'clock. Not sure of their significance. A wonderful momento for a soldier to take to war with him.

Sure hope the guy got his looks from his father's side!
I see what you mean Blunderbuss2 - but he was surely handsome and charming enough to attract a very beautiful wife.
Yeah, good taste in women doesn't apply to mother.
Thank you Agram.m for interest. It got me to look at your collection. I also collect micromosaic but alas my collection has little to offer compared to your beautiful and detailed pieces. I especially like those set in onyx or red glass. Very beautiful! Where do you find these treasures - on line, shops, auctions?
