Found this at an estate sale, I have no idea of what it is. Any ideas??
It is very old, made out of metal. There is a place on the front where a lock can be used, opens up. Approximately 6 inches high, 9 inches wide.

SOLVED on facebook by Gayathri Iyer: I've seen a lot of these growing up in India and my parents have similar cases for ornamental purposes--usually made out of brass or bronze. Just a box or "dabba" as its called in India. There are bigger versions of these and they are called "sandook"--kind of like a small chest/suitcase.
