One more of my second hand store finds. It is 10x8x3 1/2 inches. There is a mirror inside, but the mirror is not in great condition. The sides are detailed, of course I did not take a pic. Can anyone date the box? I would love to know more about it.

See mine in my Jewelry Box collection. Wood painted gold with painted mirror silhouette lid. Inside lid and inside base are mirrors. - 1920's or earlier.
Looks more like 1980s.
Someone made that sort of uninformed comment about mine when I first posted it even though the original owner had died in 1947 and it held items from the early 1900's.
These jewelry boxes are from the 1920's or earlier . I had one that once belonged to my great grandmother . She was born in 1876 . So these have been around for a lot longer than the 1980's !!!
That may be, but you have to agree, the design fits perfectly with the 80s esthetics, which seems to be back in fashion now.
davyd286 : I not only had the one that belonged to my great grandmother ( I gave mine to my daughter . ) I have also seen many of them in anitque shops in our area . They also came in gold color . If you ever see one in person you would know that these are something that have been around for a long time . The craftsmanship is far superior to anything made in the 80's !!!!
100% agree with DobbinDee - If you ever see one in person you would know that these are something that have been around for a long time . The craftsmanship is far superior to anything made in the 80's !!!!
Thanks, I'll be on the lookout.:)
