This one's in our bedroom. I find I sleep better with it loudly ticking away. I'll wake up sometimes in the middle of the night and have to listen for it's chime to see what time it is before I can fall back to sleep... On second thought, maybe I don't sleep better...lol...

Bruce, I'm not sure.. Kassel followed by tm on the dial. I've googled it and there is a German company called Kassel but when you find this clock for sale online it makes no mention of where it's made... It sells everywhere for less than $100
