Alfred Cox for Heals chest of drawer c1950. Lovely vintage light amber coloured satin walnut chest of 5 graduated bedroom drawers top drawer with seperate compartments, all drawers with original metal handles all the drawers with dovetailed joints the drawers on tall typical 1950s shaped legs.
A lovely iconic piece of vintage 1950s modernist designer furniture dating to the 1950s modernist mid century modern festival of Britain era.
size 34 1/4"w X 18"d X 41 1/2" inches high.
Just brought this home. I pasted this description from somewhere else, but mine isn't from Heals, it's from Jeffery Son and Co Ltd. of Northampton. Originally sold about a 1.5miles from my house and bought from the purchasing family about a mile away. This is going in my sons bedroom when we reorganise the house. He'd better not damage it, or I will break his fingers (not really).
The Jeffery family no longer sell furniture, but they still have a shop in town selling menswear (Montague Jeffery). It's still the best place in town to get a suit.
