They say that opposites attract, and here is proof of that - two colors on pretty much opposite sides of the color wheel come together to form a striking specimen in glass. Lisa Birnbach in The Official Preppy Handbook devoted an entire chapter to "The Virtues of Pink and Green", and yet, she made no mention of Rindskopf!
"Preppiness" aside, I do love this color combination, and good examples like this one are hard to come by. Unfortunately, it won't be with me long; I've already found a new home for it. It was a pleasure to have it though, even for a brief time. I will definitely continue to keep an eye out for others.

love this pattern -but do you really think as late as 1920 -I thought Rindskopf was all pressed glass by then?
It's a fair question, Mike - but the reason I say circa 1920 is that I don't know when Rindskopf started making these cased aventurine pieces, but I do have an educated guess about when they stopped, courtesy of the English sterling collars found on several of them, which all (the ones I've seen) date to the mid-1920s. The form of this one suggests it was done a little earlier, though. So I think 1920 is probably the late end of the range of dates when this piece might have been made? 1910-1920?
I have a tall one of these in a different shape ( posted earlier ). It's one of my favorite vases.
