History of Use: The lamp is a diagnostic tool used in dermatology by which UV-A light is shone onto the skin of the patient; a technician then observes any subsequent fluorescence. For example, porphyrins—associated with some skin diseases—will fluoresce pink. on and on! Hello This was my stepfathers, he was Admiral Nimitz's Dr.m in WW-2. Later he was dermatologist. He treated lots of kids for pimples. He joked he never lost a child to acne! haha That is my pheasant Heisey glass now green with I guess radiation. I also use it to tell if a stone is a garnet or ruby! Wow do rubies light up. I use it for other test also. I use it on myself, and saw a spot on my leg and had surgery twice to get rid of skin cancer. The headband glasses I do not know history of them. If you rub coffee on your face it will light up also!! So if you go dancing where there is black lights, put coffee on your face and stand out from the crowd! Oh I believe the case is bakelite!
