A while back someone on CW asked for postings of how people are displaying their glass at home, I am in desperate need of new display shelves as everything is so cluttered that it cannot all be appreciated the way it should be, but per request here is some of what I have out in the house. There is still TONS boxed up from the move that I just dont have room for. I recently purchased the first shelve at a second hand store for a great price, and the clock is an older Singer model. Didnt even know Singer made clocks till I found this one the day before I found the second hand store one. the larger Hutch was something the wife and I rescued out of the trash if you can believe that one. People throw the dangest things in the garbage. I love it and think it still has a few years left in it. Hope you enjoy seeing just a little of my collection/Obsession.

I especially love the red peaking out of the clock!
What is the gold in the 1st pic? Luster ware?
Yellow and orange on 2nd pic (middle two shelves) are fab
And always love the satin green milky glass
We are waiting on snow but nothing so far
Never thought about displaying in a clock:)
Understand running out of space.
Thanks for the love everyone. Have to leave in minutes so making this short.
Thanks for the comments, I will get back to answering you AmberRose. Taking the wife out for breakfast and then going to hit all the thrifts shops that are 50miles plus from home. Cant wait to get to them, hopefully find some great treasure today.
nldionne, The clock actually came with the shelves in it, it was made this way. Great idea though, Love it!Thanks for the love and comments!
I need a clock like that;) don't know where I would it though.
Great collection JayHow you have beautiful pieces there...Tell me about that space problem!.. I know exactly what you mean ...:-/... and getting bigger by the moment..but love that kinda problem!...:-))
Many thanks for all the compliments. I have been checking out some of the shelving I have seen here on CW and think I will have a great summer project of building some great shelves of my own to display it all. Looking for a glass company now to work with on the prices. But like GSO...its a wonderful problem to have...
Thanks Sean, A bottle of hair dye goes a long way. Makes me look 10yrs younger at least. This one was taken after getting off the bike last summer.
Thanks for sharing your display. I love the clock. Gives me an idea...I might have to find one that isn't working or missing it's works. They make an unique display cabinet. Beautiful collection!
Yes, I love the clock too. And the candia papillon water-sprinkler (JIP like) on the bottom looks like one I used to own that I wish I still had. Love it all!
Thanks for the comments bkirks and dasullywon. I loved this clock for the shelf space actually and was the reason I purchased it. As you can all see, I have glass hanging from the rafters so to speak. Sad part is this is only about a third of the collection. The rest is still boxed up waiting for a new and improved way to display it all. LOL
Did I mention that the clock is an old vintage "SINGER". I had no idea that they made more than sewing machings and small appliances. Just for giggles I may do a little research on that too. Its an electric movement so I know it is vintage at best. Laminate wood also gives away the fact it is not that old.
Sewing machines had/have wooden cabinets and intricate mechanical engines with gears and other precision parts, so in a way it is very logical that Singer would also make wall or grandfather clocks. That is very interesting though.
Totally agree with you about the logic of Singer making clocks. I know they have made sewing machines since...needle and thread were invented. LOL But this is like a revelation not nowing such a long term company has made something and not knowing it till after everyone else does...did that make any sense... Either way I just think it is a facinating aspect of the Singer company. Thanks for your comments Dasullywon. Great eye spotting the candia loetz as well. :)
AmberRose, I am so sorry I totally forgot to get back to the questions you had about the first pic. The first pic, case holds all the carnival glass in so Im not sure which "Gold" pieces since none are gold. But looking at the pics Im guessing you mean the top shelf and all that is a beautiful unknown patterned marigold carnival glass I picked up along the way.
We are getting the snow storm here now AmberRose. Probably nothing like you ended up with though Im sure. Thanks so much for your interest in my collection AmberRose.
Thanks for the love Alfredo! How's the weather there. Had several inches of snow here. Just enough to keeo the kiddo's out of school. I can handle that though, beats the hell out of the Feet of snow the east coast gets every winter!
thanks for the love Epson233
Looking great, very nice how you've displayed yours. Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you Kerry10456 Running out of room, but am working on a solution to that...What did you think about the "Singer" clock/display in the posting. I know how into old timepieces you are?
I think it's a great looking clock, is it a key wind piece or a later electric clock? I did notice it right off, lol, was going to ask but thought it made a great shelf/ curio for your glass.
this is an older electric model, Im guessing anywhere from the 50's to 70's. Found it, loved it, bought it! lol you know how that is. I wanted it more for the shelving and didnt notice the singer clock until I got it home. I love it and I think there are alot of people out there that are now going to "re-purpose" their old clocks that dont run anymore but will make beautiful display cases. thanks for the love and interest.
OMG what a collection...we must be family as we have the same taste..I LOVE and collect uranium glass, too
Tell me, do you know anything about the yellow/red glass vase in the second picture, top right? I had the same in a different color but sold it. I just thought of it as an end of the day piece...knew nothing more about it
Thanks for the love and comments Geno. I have had the vase for a while now and nobody seems to know where this came from. I have exausted myself looking through page after page in catalogs and online, still nothing. What I can tell you, is that anytime I take this to an antique shop, they really want to purchase it, but dont want to get out any significant $$ so I take it home. I figure something that so many people want must have some value and nobody is saying it. I love it personally and have no desire to sell it, just would like to know who made it. In the 15-20 years of collecting I have never seen another like it. I did chuckle at the family comment. I dont know of a single glass collector who didnt have it sitting on any flat surface they can find. Even my 13yr old is getting into collecting.
I'm surprised you isn't stumble onto mine when searching. I sold mine a few weeks ago. The only things I don't sell are my Belgium pottery pieces. Everthing else, even the Culver extras go. I need to do this to keep collecting
My adult kids have no interest in my things and they will end up in the thrift shops completing the circle of life ;)
