Sadly, the OSU mug was made in China, but it's still a fine looking mug. I didn't attend The Institute, but acquired it afterward, and have kept it as a memento of my days as an Agricultural Diagnostic Microbiologist.
The Union Carbide mug comes from Niagara Falls, NY where UC had a facility. No more Union Carbide, no more Asbestos, and precious little chemical industry anymore in Niagara Falls. Another souvenir of different times!
This was a Buntingware production. The USA had a pretty large ceramic industry at one time.
