My friend gave me this old GE solid state AM radio. The clock, alarm, dial backlight and tuning knobs work, but sadly the radio itself does not. I took it to an old time electronics repair store, but "the radio man" had left the business, so I'll keep looking for a repair person...wish me luck!
This is GE model C-553Z. It has a real wood body with a plastic face. Even if I cannot get the radio to work, it is still a neat conversation piece

Good evening, walksoftly...thanks for the love!
Thank you, Phil!!!
I don't know where you live, but there's a Radio & Television Museum in Bowie, Maryland that will do repairs for a donation. Maybe you can find a place like that close to your home?
Thank you, Mary! I live in upstate PA, and I don't get to MD often. But if I can't find a shop nearer to home, maybe a trip to MD could be done.
Thank you, michaeln544, for your love of this radio!
