This is another of my favorite treasures I found. When I got it the book was labeled bible 20.00. To my surprise when I opened it ..wow. This contains over 40 tintypes and CDV photo's. There are cowboy types kids and women in vintage dress and Civil war type. The book itself is amazing but the spine has become loose and torn but the book is still together. My guess the book is from the 1880's or so with photos from 1860's thru 1890's.

It is typical for these albums to have spine damage.

Photo #2 is a Civil War soldier wearing a 4 button sack coat.

Your other images (tintypes and CDV) are from a later time period. They look to be 1880s- 1890s.

It is common to see one album hold images from the 1860s to the turn of the century.

Hey Scott the gray pants Union or Confederate?
    3. scottvez scottvez, 11 years ago
He is Union-- I wouldn't use the color as a factor in black and white images.

The issue pants were sky blue and often appear as "gray".
