Hi, I need help on my keepsake box. This is a beautiful trinket box but I do not know what the mark stands for or who might have made it, or even if it is silver or silver plated. It is a heavy piece. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Michelle

Hi, thought I would share that I found out this is sterling and the mark M in a diamond is the sterling silver mark for Mandalian Mfg. Co. This was made sometime between 1890 to 1903. The Co. mentioned also made very sought after mesh handbags.
